10 Things to do Before Buying Used Canon Camera Lens

Hey Everyone!
Just a couple days ago I bought a used Canon Camera Lens from Kijiji. Considering that Lenses are typically not a cheap investment,  I thought I would take some time to go through the "tests" and precautions I took before going ahead and buying a Used Canon Lens. When buying a Camera or Lens I normally go to www.buycanonlenses.com, then head over to Amazon and find new and used corresponding products that people have good things to say about.

1. Check the Optics

If a lens is solid in mint or near mind condition there should be no optical blemishes or marks. So  the front and back elements shouldn't have any scratches and the internal elements are dust free, with not fungal growth or mold.

2. Check The Focus

Put the lens on your camera and check the accuracy and responsiveness of the lens in both single-shot and continuous AF modes. Finally, try out the manual focus ring. If it feels sloppy or grinds, then reject it.

3. Confirm Compatibility

Manufactures occasionally change the chi[s in their SLR s and lenses, so older canon lenses may not work on a new canon camera. Check online resources, such as www.kenrockwell.com  first.

4. Fast Glass

When looking to by a used Canon Lens, look for older compatible manual focus versions. Lenses with wide maximum apertures - such as f/2.8 - are referred to as "fast" lenses, as they enable the use of faster shutter speeds at low ISO's They can be expensive to

5. Take Test Shots

Before buying the used Canon Camera lens you should always take test shots. Ideally you should test a lesn before you buy it to make sure everyhting works and that elements haven't been knocked out of line, which will result in unsharp pictues. If you buy online, test the lens as soon as it arrives.

6. Get A Guarantee

If you buy a second hand Canon Camera Lens from a dealer than it should always come with a money back guarantee. As a minimum you need it to cover 3 months, but get the guarantee in writing!

Conclusion
Well, there ya have it! My guide to buying A used Camera Lens. I can't stress enough how important it is to go through the steps to avoid throwing away $1000 or more on a Canon Lens. Like I said, a good place to start looking is on Amazon,  or at Canon Camera Lens Reviews you can read up on Canon reviews.

Canon DSLR Camera

Hey Guys!

So I was doing some shopping over the the weekend and I couldn't believe the selection of Canon DLSR cameras they has at Future Shop. I've never really been shopping there before so I decided I would stop by and see what they have. Basically because my friend told me he had bought a Camera there not too long ago and he got a really good price for it. Instantly after he said that I gave him my opinion on buying cameras at not specialty stores; Don't do it! But now after going through the store and checking out all there Canon DLSR cameras I feel bad for shutting him down so quickly.

The main reason why I never really thought of going to a place like Future Shop, or Best Buy for high quality DLSR Canon Cameras was because the staff at places like this don't have to have and real training, knowledge, or background on the products they are selling.

They really did have some good deals tho. So I will say my opinions on this matter have changed slightly. Basically if you are educated on Canon Cameras, then go ahead and buy what you want from wherever you want. but if you are looking to be informed on different brands, and stats, then you need to be talking with someone who knows there stuff.

But anyway, here are a few sick deals that jumped out at me when I was at future Shop over the weekend.
